On Wednesday 26th January in the NCFE Level 2 Certificate Photography course we were delighted to welcome Photographer and Set Designers from America, Lori Nix and Kathleen Gerber. They are world renowned in their field, and spoke to learners about their approach to their creative work, designing miniature sets for world brands and television.
The sets can take up to nine months to create. They discussed the history of their work and how they use 3D printer to now create part of their set designs. The learners were able to ask freely questions about their approach to their briefs that were answered and reflected upon.
The subject of Sustainability was discussed about their working practice, alongside the importance of recognising change that is needed in the creative sector.
Our guests took time to look at learners work that they had photographed in ‘miniature’ with positive feedback alongside advice for equipment and lighting.
Learners commented on the great opportunity to be able to gain an insight to a professional working practice from two renowned artists.
