Learn techniques of mindfulness, meditation, and creative exercises to become more aware of
yourself and others and how you can you express yourself creatively. Regular practice will help
you become more empowered, focused and calm, reducing feelings of anxiety, stress and low
mood in everyday life and lead to increasing productivity and creativity as tensions reduce.
Exploring different aspects of mindfulness, meditation and creative expression will provide you with
a range of tools that can lead to a greater sense of wellbeing.
Who is this course for?
This course is suitable for anyone who wishes to learn about mindfulness, meditation, journaling, vision boards and techniques that help to focus the mind on the present moment. Ultimately the practices can make positive changes to your physical, mental, emotional and spiritual wellbeing. We are committed to providing a safe environment for our learners and staff therefore please inform us of any individual circumstances that help us meet your needs. If there are any physical or mental health conditions, please notify the centre when enrolling so that the tutor can have an informal chat to ensure that the course is suitable for your needs.
This course does not lead to a qualification and is for personal development.
What can I expect to learn?
You will learn effective techniques to make positive changes to your physical, mental, emotional and spiritual wellbeing. Incorporated in to the course are techniques including:
- Mindfulness breath, body scan and movement
- Introduction to different meditation practices such as chanting, mantras etc
- Creative activities such as journaling, salt jars, vision boards etc.
- There will be an introduction to the theories and research that is relevant to the topics.
How will I learn?
Tutor presentations, small and large group discussions, pair work, case studies, workshops, journal self-reflections and personal research. Sessions will be interactive and equip participants with a range of tools for immediate application in their own lives and with others in their personal or professional life.
How will I know how well I am doing?
Assessment will be on-going throughout the course linked to an individual learning plan. Learners must be prepared to annotate weekly to reflect on their learning and record progress.
