What do we offer?

ACL has been delivering quality training and development programmes for over 30 years.

We work with employers of all shapes and sizes who take training and development as seriously as we do. We work in partnership with every employer to ensure that training and development needs are met at every step of the way.

Our offer includes programmes and courses that can be delivered in the workplace, as well as traditional classroom sessions in one of ten Essex based centres. There are opportunities for training to be delivered in the evening and on the weekend and in some instances as an online programme.

A variety of funding options means that some programmes could be free of charge.  For those programmes that do require a financial contribution we have flexible payment methods available.  Further information on ‘how to pay’ can be found at the back of our brochure.

With over 300 courses available through ACL it’s impossible to list them all – we’d love to talk through your options, fill out the contact form below and a member of the team will be in contact soon.

Work Based Learning

We have a range of vocational courses that enable learners to draw on their day to day experiences and develop skills that support their job role.

Taught sessions will usually take place at an ACL centre and can be daytime or evening.

Learners will have visits in the workplace from their assessor.  Their Line Manager will contribute to target setting during these programmes.

Programmes start all year round.  Prices depend on the prior attainment of the learner.

We offer work based learning at levels 2, 3, 4 and 5. Curriculum areas include:

  • Early Years and Education
  • Leadership and Management
  • Health and Social Care
  • Business

Apprenticeships

Our apprenticeship programmes are available across the county with start dates all year round.

Taking on an apprentice is a brilliant way of investing in the future of your business. You can recruit and train fresh talent that will grow with your company. As your delivery partner we will put together a programme that is appropriate and applicable to your business and support you and your apprentice throughout the whole process.

If you need help in recruiting, we can assist with that too. We seek out motivated and enthusiastic individuals who are bursting with potential.

The great news is that apprenticeship programmes are also available to your existing workforce.  They can support individuals who are moving into a new role, have recently gained line management responsibilities or simply need to develop their current skills sets.

Our Apprenticeships last between 12 and 24 months depending on the subject area and level.  Everyone who undertakes this type of programme will be required to spend 20% of their contracted hours in some form of ‘off job’ learning activity over the lifetime of their programme.

The cost of an apprenticeship depends on the programme and its level. Larger employers will use their Apprenticeship Levy to fund the programme.  Employers not paying into the levy will be required to pay 5% of the overall cost.  Our Business Development team will discuss prices with you and agree a payment schedule prior to any apprentice starting a programme.

A bursary of £1000 could be available if you employ less than 50 people and your apprentice meets the eligibility criteria.
