Last weekend, we opened the doors to the new ACL Harlow and Library, welcoming residents into our exciting new facilities and learning environments. We were joined by Rt Hon Robert Halfon, MP for Harlow, and Councillor Tony Ball, Essex County Council’s Cabinet Member for Education Excellence, Lifelong Learning and Employability, as well as local Councillors, community groups and press.
Together with the Libraries service, we offered activities, talks and refreshments whilst providing more information about our range of provision. The space offers us with more opportunities to support people in the Harlow community, whilst providing more potential to host collaborative events in a central location. Courses will be starting from September.
Robert explained “I’m passionate about adult community learning centres and Essex is one of the very best. The staff are second to none and dedicate themselves to transforming the educational life chances for so many. It is a wonderful example of how to give a leg up to adults to climb the ladder of opportunity. I’m very proud that such a wonderful adult community centre exists in my constituency at Harlow.”
