What district within Essex are you based?
Chelmsford.
How did you hear about the Nightingale Care Bursary?
Through my employer.
Please tell us a little bit about your current role/course:
I am a Field Supervisor and mainly support my clients. I go out and complete enquiries, consultations and reviews. I am office based but still go out to complete hands on if required and support our Care Professionals with introductions, supervisions and concerns.
What inspired you to seek a career within the Health & Care sector?
I saw a job advert for a companion, I thought I could do that, I had always worked with children so this was a nice change.
What would you say to others considering a career within Health and Social care?
Before you look into a career in the care industry, please research what it entails, it is a lot more in-depth than you realise. This job is one of the most rewarding jobs ever.
How has Nightingale supported you in achieving your career goals/progression?
The NVQ 3 has helped me with acknowledging I know as much as I do about my role. It also puts me in a great position to take the next step towards my end goal.
What is one thing you are proud of that you have achieved whilst completing your programme?
My Advance Care Planning unit.
We’d like to know more about you outside of your studies, tell us about your hobbies, and interests…
My hobbies are music, football and spending time with my children, partner and indoor rabbit, who is a bit of a menace.
