A new Ofsted report reveals that ACL Essex is ‘Good’ in all areas.
Ofsted has awarded our adult education provider, ACL Essex, ‘Good’ in all areas. The inspection took place over three days in December 2023. Ofsted published the report last week. ACL Essex was last inspected in 2018 and kept their ‘Good’ grade.
During the inspection, Ofsted observed several lessons at ACL Essex centres. According to Ofsted, the curriculum meets the needs of the local community. Tutors also build knowledge and skills using a range of effective teaching strategies.
Councillor Tony Ball, Cabinet Member for Education Excellence, Lifelong Learning and Employability, said:
“Post-pandemic, ACL Essex has adapted its services. They have created hybrid classrooms and a new digital hub for learners. Learners enjoy the same access to technology and the best possible learning experience.
“It’s great that ACL Essex employees are being recognised for all their hard work.”
Ofsted also stated that leaders and managers support employees with professional development. They plan opportunities and help tutors to keep their skills up to date.
Lisa Jarentowski, ACL Essex Principal, said:
“We’re delighted to gain a ‘Good’ grade from Ofsted. We want everyone to feel they can reach their career goals. We’re always looking to develop our employees, and now Ofsted has recognised this.
“It’s an amazing achievement. I’m so proud of all our employees and learners.”
The report also identified areas that ACL Essex could work on. Yet, Ofsted said leaders understand the strengths and weaknesses of the organisation. They also saw that leaders are already making improvements in some of these areas.
