ACL Essex releases guide to re-energising your career during National Careers Week 2024

This year, the adult education provider is giving top tips to show people how to build the career they’ve always wanted.

During National Careers Week (4-9 March), ACL Essex is showing people how they can improve their job prospects with a range of courses.

Councillor Tony Ball, Essex County Council’s Cabinet Member for Education Excellence, Lifelong Learning and Employability, said, “National Careers Week is a great time to look at your career goals. Whether you need to build skills or want to move to a new role in a specific sector, ACL Essex has a course for you. Many training opportunities are free. Plus, courses are flexible to fit around you and your lifestyle.”

ACL Essex has provided top tips to help people across the county to re-energise their career:

  1. Try flexible learning to fit around work and family commitments:

For people who have existing responsibilities, ACL Essex provides a range of flexible learning courses. These online and hybrid courses can fit around busy lifestyles and can be completed at a time that suits the learner. 1. Boost your career in the health and care sector with the Nightingale Care Bursary:

Free training is available for people who want to boost their job prospects in the health and care sector. The Nightingale Care Bursary, funded by Essex County Council, is a free set of courses for existing health and care employees or those wishing to enter the sector. With qualifications from levels 2 to 5, the courses support people in their role within the health and care sector or help to improve their skills to enhance job prospects and gain a promotion. 1. Earn while you learn with an apprenticeship:

It’s widely thought that apprenticeships are just for school-leavers. However, they are for anyone who want to gain valuable experience and earn while they learn. Whether leaving school or college, looking for a career change, or wanting to develop skills in a current role, an apprenticeship could be a great option. There are over 30 apprenticeships in different subject areas available at ACL Essex. To find out more about apprenticeships at ACL Essex, visit www.aclessex.com/apprenticeships.
