You may already have ideas about your future career that you would like to develop, or you may wish to explore what type of role you might be suited to. Our professional Careers and Progression advisors will give you the support, information and advice needed to make the best choices.
What can you expect from our Careers and Progression Service:
- Free impartial careers information, advice and guidance.
- We can offer appointments either at an ACL centre convenient to you or online (this includes evenings by arrangement).
- We can help you to achieve your goals by creating an action plan about what you need to do next.
- We offer a suite ACL Employability courses to develop your skills.
- We will help you to explore your ideas, using current and relevant information such as local labour market information (LMI).
- We can refer and signpost to relevant agencies if required e.g. employment support, benefits advice, immigration advice, mental health support.
- We use and store your personal information within General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR).
- Our service is confidential (unless there is clear evidence of serious risk to either your welfare or that of others).
- We are not a CV writing service, but we can support you to write your own CV or improve an existing CV.
- We can only give limited advice on benefits and student finance. We can signpost you to the right place to get the advice you need.
- We cannot advise you about immigration issues, but we can tell you where to go to get advice.
- We are not a job searching agency, but we can support you to look in the right places.
