ACL Essex celebrates its work in the community on World Maths Day

Adult education provider, ACL Essex supports hundreds of adults to develop their maths skills.

This World Maths Day (23 March), ACL Essex is celebrating its work in the community and shining a light on the maths courses on offer.

ACL Essex has received government funding to run a series of Multiply courses. The courses will help people to boost their knowledge and gain confidence in maths.

The Multiply courses will cover areas like shopping on a budget, using maths for gardening and understanding the cost of DIY.

Businesses can also train their employees with sector-specific courses. ‘Maths for Scientists’, ‘Maths for Microsoft’ and ‘Confidence in Maths’ will be available. ACL Essex also offers bespoke training for businesses.

People who enrol will receive a £10 shopping voucher for every different Multiply course they complete.

Councillor Tony Ball, Cabinet Member for Education Excellence, Lifelong Learning and Employability, said:

“Building confidence in maths is so important. We use maths every day, whether cooking, shopping or at work. ACL Essex’s courses help boost numeracy skills and gain confidence in maths.”

“It’s also important that employees are confident with maths. With ACL Essex, employees can boost their numeracy skills, creating a stronger workforce.”

Courses will be available in person and online.
