National Apprenticeship Week: ACL Essex offers free events on Apprenticeships
ACL Essex is offering people interested in stepping onto an apprenticeship, and businesses keen to employ an apprentice, a series of free information events during National Apprenticeship Week – 10-16 February.
Apprenticeships are a fantastic opportunity for anyone looking to step onto the career ladder, change jobs, or upskill. The free event will be on Tuesday 11 February, between 4 – 5pm. The session will provide information and advice on apprenticeships in Business & Management, Health & Social Care, Early Years and Education.
The adult learning provider is also reaching out to local employers. Apprenticeships can provide cost effect recruitment and training solutions to support business growth and continuity. They can help to upskill existing employees and bring new talent into an organisation. Business leaders can find out more at an event specifically aimed at employers on Thursday 13 February, between 1 – 2pm. The session will provide information on the range of apprenticeships on offer, as well as guidance on how to recruit and onboard an apprentice. Information will also be on given on how to develop existing staff’s skills via an apprenticeship.
Councillor Tony Ball, Essex County Council’s Cabinet Member for Education Excellence, Lifelong Learning and Employability, is excited about the opportunities on offer. He says: “Apprenticeships are a great way for people to master new skills, whilst earning a wage. Employees learn on the job and gain professional qualifications.”
He adds: “Apprenticeships are ideal for local businesses too. ACL Essex offers first class support and can help upskill existing staff as well as training new talent.”

ACL Essex is also offering free Poppins Early Years Bursary webinars for learners and nursery leaders. The webinar for learners runs on Thursday 13 February between 5.45 – 6.45pm, whilst employers can attend the webinar on Monday 10 February between 4 – 5pm.
