Adult learners across Essex opened their GCSE results on Thursday 21 August. This year, ACL Essex supported lots of adults to boost their career opportunities by gaining GCSEs in English, Maths and Science.
Lenny Bright, 24, is from Colchester and gained a GCSE Level 4 in Biology in August and now intends to go to university. Lenny used a hybrid course, attending some classes in person and others over Zoom. Lenny shares his experience:
“I’m happy with the Level 4. When I was studying Applied Science at college a few years ago, Biology was one of the areas I fell behind in. So, getting the Level 4 is very good for me! I can now go to university and study Sociology.
“ACL Essex and the biology course kept me going, focused and ready for when I go to university.
“ACL Essex has been very positive, very supportive and good with people with special needs. They give one-to-one support that mainstream schools are not able to give. I’ve never done as well in a studying environment as I have done with ACL.”
