Creative Craft Entry Award Using Metal Clay
The aim of this course is to develop the introductory skills required for silversmithing using metal clay.
It involves:
- Understanding the properties of silver clay
- Learning how to mould, sculpt, and shape it to recover the precious metal contained within the binder (clay)
- Exploring heat processes and the safe use of tools
- Considering what makes a good design for metal clay
- Learning how to make a fine silver item, from planning and design to polishing
During this course, you will produce samples for your portfolio.
