ACL Essex has supported hundreds of adults over the past year to develop their numeracy skills and is shining a light on the courses on offer on National Numeracy Day (22 May).
The adult education provider is supporting the community by launching a range of maths courses over the coming months.
ACL Essex has received government funding to run a series of Multiply courses to help people boost their knowledge and gain confidence in maths.
Tutors will support learners with everyday maths tasks. The courses will cover areas like shopping on a budget, using maths for gardening and understanding the cost of DIY.
People who want to boost their maths skills in a particular sector could also enrol on ‘Maths Skills for Scientists’ or learn how to use maths for Microsoft programmes.
Courses will be delivered in person at several locations across the county, such as the CVST Dovercourt & Harwich HUB and CSS Wickford, as well as selected ACL Essex centres. Online live courses will also be available in mornings and evenings, for people who have other commitments.
People who enrol on a Multiply course at ACL Essex will also receive a £10 shopping voucher for every different course they complete.
Courses are available to those who are aged 19 or over and do not currently hold a maths GCSE at grade C/4 or above. The courses have begun and will continue to take place over the coming months.
