We’re pleased to share that Little Learners Colchester located within our ACL Colchester centre has received highly positive feedback following a recent Ofsted inspection.
The nursery was visited in November, with the final report published in February. The inspector highlighted the ambitious curriculum and the strong focus on supporting children to develop confidence, curiosity, and a positive attitude toward learning.
Key highlights from the Ofsted report
- Inclusive, nurturing environment: Children and babies are supported to feel safe, secure, and willing to try new things.
- Strong progress for all learners: Ofsted noted that all children, regardless of their starting point or any barriers to learning, make progress. Early interventions are firmly in place, including support for children with SEND.
- High-quality relationships with families: Staff were praised for building strong, trusting relationships with parents and carers.
- Excellent role modelling: Leaders and practitioners were described as calm, kind, and respectful in all interactions with children.
- Effective language development strategies: Staff use clear, simple language, repetition, music, and everyday sounds to support children with speech and language development, including those who do not speak English as their first language.
