Summary
Over the past few weeks, we’ve been speaking to learners across our centres, and their stories truly highlight the impact of learning with ACL and what our courses can offer you. You also have the opportunity to win a £50 High-Street voucher if you complete the learner feedback survey before December 31st.
Learning isn’t just about gaining qualifications, it’s about unlocking potential, building confidence, and creating opportunities that can transform lives. At ACL, we provide a welcoming and supportive environment where learners of all ages and backgrounds can thrive.
Whether you’re looking to develop new skills, return to education, or simply explore a passion, ACL offers courses that make a real difference. But don’t just take our word for it, hear what our learners have to say about their experience.
Art: Creativity That Inspires
For many, art is more than just a hobby – it’s a lifeline.
Gillian shared:
“This is my 3rd art course, and it is definitely the highlight of my week. It gives me a purpose to get out and meet my friends that I’ve made at the group. I have learnt new techniques and gained confidence in my art and a big personal boost of my own confidence”
Another learner told us:
“As a recovering cancer survivor, I have found the ACL pottery classes to be a release from the daily tensions that exist in adjusting back to normality. Both instructors are supportive and inspirational”
Digital Skills: Staying connected
Digital skills are essential in today’s word, and ACL makes learning accessible for everyone, no matter your age or experience.
Cliff explained:
“I am now more familiar with the terminology used in modern life. I have also been made aware of the use of desktops. The tutor was very informative, and her assistant was very attentive especially to us older students”
Maths: Building Pathways
Maths can open doors to new careers and help families thrive.
Zoe shared her journey:
“I’m a mum of 4 and I have returned to start my career pathway as a paramedic and assist my children with their education. I love the atmosphere of this college and the people I have met are great. The tutors are very encouraging and supportive”
English: Confidence Through Communication
Improving English skills can transform everyday life.
Michelle told us:
“I decided to enrol on the English course at ACL as my son is currently in year 9 and I am looking to gain a better understanding of how I can help him out with his schoolwork. Despite just starting the course, I believe I will take a lot from this as it is a very inclusive, no-pressure environment with patient tutors. Thank you so much for what you do and opening up learning to people who didn’t have a good experience at school”
Family Learning: Stronger Together
Family Learning helps parents and carers support their children while building confidence.
Sarah said:
“The Family Learning sessions have helped me to understand my child better and they have given me the tools needed to manage daily challenges. It’s a welcoming space where I feel supported”
