ACL Essex is offering a programme to enable individuals to access a Nursing Associate Apprenticeship in the Tendring District.
The programme has been approved by the Suffolk & North East Essex (SNEE) NHS Trust to create an alternative pathway into nursing careers.
The Apprenticeship can start at any time and will run over 5 years. ACL will support you to find a suitable apprentice for your organisation. Apprentices will be aged 16 or over, a new entrant into the Health and Care profession and be keen to develop a career within this rewarding sector.
You will need to pay the apprentice a salary whilst on the programme and provide a workplace mentor.
The Apprenticeship training will be funded by an Apprenticeship Levy Transfer from an NHS organisation.
What will the programme look like?
Apprentices will start their apprenticeship journey on either an Adult Care or Healthcare Level 2 programme in one of the following settings: Residential Care, Hospice, Community Hospital, GP Practice Nursing Home, Community Pharmacy, Domiciliary Care.
This programme will include supporting them to achieve their maths and English at level 2 (GCSE Grade C/4) if not already achieved.
Upon completion of the level 2 programme, they will move onto either the level 3 Lead Adult Care Worker or Senior Healthcare Support Worker apprenticeship.
ACL will deliver this programme in partnership with you, the employer and the SNEE Trust.
Apprentices will be assigned a Tutor from ACL who will take them through the level 2 and level 3 programmes. They will attend classroom sessions in either a virtual environment or at our Clacton Campus. . They will complete assignments, projects and carry out research as part of the course.

After they have successfully completed the initial 3 years, they will move onto the Level 5 Nursing Associate Apprenticeship which will be delivered by either the University of Essex or Anglia Ruskin University. ACL will work with the university and yourselves to ensure a smooth transition.
