Education & Skills Funding Agency (ESFA) Funding

ESFA funding aims to engage adults and provide the skills and learning they need to progress into, or within, work; or equip them for an apprenticeship or other learning. It enables more flexible tailored programmes of learning to be made available, which may or may not require a qualification, to help eligible learners engage in learning, build confidence, and/or enhance their wellbeing.

This funding supports delivery of courses that lead to a qualification including traineeships, apprenticeships, Advanced Learner Loans, the Level 3 National Skills Offer and courses which do not lead to a qualification.

16 to 19 tuition fund 2021 to 2022 academic year

Small group tuition and one to one learning will be provided to learners who were not able to fully engage in their maths and/or English learning because of the impact of the pandemic in the 2020-21 academic year and as a result have not able to achieve a minimum of grade 4.

Learners will be screened through the initial assessment process to identify those who have had their learning disrupted. Where appropriate – learners will be put into small groups of less than 5 with one-to-one tuition available to provide additional support and confidence. The learning will be upfronted to maximise opportunities for learning with learners being supported to achieve Functional Skills as steppingstone qualifications to progress towards the equivalent Grade 4.

Existing staff will be allocated additional hours to support delivery.

Hong Kong British National (Overseas) [BN(O)] UK Welcome Programme

The Ministry for Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) has provided a funded national ‘Welcome Programme’ to support BN(O) status holders and their eligible family members to help them successfully settle in their new communities within the UK.
