- Take a photograph that makes you happy
- Take part in messy play
Parent Top Tips:
- Projects are great – whatever age our child/ren, completing something and the feeling of accomplishing something build confidence – do you fancy making a family collage, a piece of art, build a den in the garden, anything which your children can be involved in, and you can do TOGETHER!
- Drawing a picture is a great opportunity to be mindful, and be in the moment, and is great to develop conversation and see into your child’s mind. i.e.Tell me more about what you have drawn, why did you draw that, why is that important to you etc.?
- What materials have you got around the house, that you can recycle and be creative with?
- What makes you happy? Taking a photograph or planning what to capture is a great way of discussing emotions and helping choose something that will evoke happy memories
- Even if you are not keen on messy play, challenge yourself to do something out of your comfort zone – start small – maybe some water play, or make sand with crushed cereal. It models to children that is OK to try something new.
