Hello, my name is Rubie Hubbard and I recently completed my Level 3 Business Administration apprenticeship with ACL, finishing with Distinctions across the board. It took me around 15 months to complete my apprenticeship and over this time I feel I have learnt so much, both professionally and personally: I am more confident when liaising with people both within and outside of my organisation; I complete my work to a higher standard, working efficiently to meet deadlines; I am more equipped to spot problems and identify solutions, and my self-confidence and determination has never been better!
Before I began my apprenticeship I had been working at Essex County Council as a Business Support Assistant for just under 2 years – before this I worked at McDonalds after leaving college, therefore this was my first real insight into the real world of work (especially in a public sector environment).
Throughout the course of my apprenticeship I started in a role where I was acting-up as a Business Support Administrator, I then went on to secure a permanent Administrator role within Business Support at Essex County Council. Around two months before the end of my apprenticeship I applied and was successful in securing a secondment role as a Senior Business Support Administrator where I am responsible for managing 11 members of staff – something I would have never thought possible before starting my apprenticeship!
