Martin is the Managing Director of The Alternative Accommodation Agency Ltd, who have used ACL apprenticeships to give opportunities to young adults so they can learn and gain invaluable real-life skills which are essential for career progression. Martin also wanted someone who could grow with them as the business grew.

What impact has the apprenticeship programme had on your business?
It has been really worthwhile. Our first apprentice is still with us and is now and integral part of the team. It was really beneficial to both parties, so much so that we are now looking to take on our second apprentice.
Why would you recommend apprenticeships to other organisations?
It is a really rewarding way to give someone an opportunity to gain life-skills, learn a trade or forge a career. But also, to watch them grow and blossom as they realise they are a valuable and important member of a team.
Why would you recommend ACL as an apprenticeship provider to other employers?
ACL made the process easy to deal with and gave us assistance every step of the way. They helped filter candidates to those who were most suitable for the role and once we had taken our apprentice on their level of support was consistent throughout the programme.
We are continuing to deliver our high-quality apprenticeship programme throughout the Covid-19 pandemic and can help you consider different options for your business and the specific circumstances you are currently working within. Businesses could receive funding of up to £3,000 to support them to take on a new apprentice and we offer apprenticeships at intermediate, advanced and higher levels.
