Le completed her Level 5 Operational Management apprenticeship and is using the skills learnt to complement her role as Senior Researcher at Essex County Council.
She explains to us how the programme has impacted and benefited her role.

What impact has your programme had on your job role/ workplace skills?
It has enhanced my skills, knowledge, and application of learning particularly around:
- Project management
- Problem-solving and decision making
- Operational management
How has your programme supported you to develop as an individual?
The support I have been given by the class tutor and my assessor, and also the allocated 20% OTJT hours have been very effective in encouraging me to continue my professional development.
What part of your programme has been the most useful/added the most value?
I found it invaluable to listen, engage, debate, and discuss the real-life applications of leadership and management theories across different parts of ECC. I have been able to appreciate even more the opportunities I have to work strategically.
Apprentice overall comments and reflection on the programme and distance travelled:
My main aim for completing this course was to formally recognise my skills, knowledge, and experience in the public sector context. Given the format of the apprenticeship, I have been able to do this with success, which I am grateful for.
