Please tell us a little bit about your current role:
I am a rehousing apprentice for the allocations team at Basildon Council. My day-to-day duties consist of assisting my team by preparing adverts for people on the housing register to bid on weekly, general admin duties, producing sign-ups workflow for people who have signed for their tenancies, and so much more which I love. I am always busy and learning something new with the support from my team.
Why did you decide to do an apprenticeship?
Would you recommend completing an apprenticeship? If so, why?
100%! All through school and college I had no idea what I wanted to be. I never thought I would have the opportunity to work for the rehousing team at Basildon council and I think that’s what’s really good about an apprenticeship. It gives you the opportunity to experience different job roles and see what suits you best. Plus you gain a qualification too!
What is one thing you are proud of that you have achieved whilst completing your apprenticeship?
I am proud that I completed my 6 months as a Kickstarter. I am currently enrolled onto a Level 3 Business Admin course and Level 2 Functional Skills math.
Outside of your apprenticeship, what do you enjoy doing?
I love being with my friends and family, whether it going out for food and socialising or walks down the beach – I just enjoy anything with people that make me happy.
