ACL Macmillan Coffee Morning
Thank you to everyone who came along to the Macmillan Coffee Morning at ACL Clacton.
Over £900 was raised for Macmillan Cancer Support. They play a vital role in supporting people living with cancer, and these donations will make a real difference to those who need it the most.
The event was organised by Hollie, one of our Customer Services Assistant at our Clacton centre. She said ‘In 2014 my mum was diagnosed with cancer. While she was having treatment, she had a Macmillan nurse who she said was amazing. Unfortunately, my mum wasn’t earning much so they paid extra money for her heating and fuel to help her get back and forth to the hospital for her treatment. I think anyone having to go through all this shouldn’t have to worry about finances, and so what Macmillan do is amazing. I also sadly know a few other people that have had to use or are having to use Macmillan at the moment.
I am overwhelmed with the support I have had from friends, family and colleagues leading up to and during the event. I would like to thank everyone for their support.”
A huge thank you to Hollie for her hard work, and making this charity event a huge success. We would also like to say a huge thank you to everyone who baked a cake, bought a raffle ticket, and popped along to support. We even had a local musician providing entertainment for those in attendance. Our Supported Learners on Hospitality courses also were supporting during the day serving cakes and drinks.
It was a lovely morning, for a very worthy cause. If you weren’t able to attend, you can still donate online.
