After joining ACL as an apprentice, Maria has progressed to the position of Centre Lead for our Colchester centre. Hear how an apprenticeship helped her career progression after leaving college.
Why did you decide to undertake an apprenticeship?
When I left college I wanted to gain a job as well as undertake a qualification, so I started a level 2 Business Admin apprenticeship, gained a full time role and then carried on to do the level 3.
What impact has your apprenticeship on your career development?
A few years ago I gained a management role so I decided to undertake a Level 3 Management apprenticeship to help develop my knowledge. Over the last couple of years the management role has progressed even further and I’ve now started to do the level 5.
Why would you recommend apprenticeships to others?
I believe it’s a great way to start your career journey or to complete alongside a job role, to help develop your knowledge, experience and behaviours. I feel that without doing my apprenticeship without ACL, I wouldn’t be where I am today.
ACL offers many different apprenticeships available across a wide range of industries, and for a wide variety of job roles. For more information and list of apprenticeships, please click here.
